Fluence Corporation (Fluence) has secured an USD8.5 million contract from Cambodia’s Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction (MLMUPC), for the construction of a third SUBRE plant using membrane aerated biofilm reactor (MABR) technology in Sihanoukville. SUBRE is an upgrade solution for wastewater treatment facilities that boosts plant capacity and intensifies the biological nutrient removal process with no additional footprint and lower energy requirements. The SUBRE plant will include 90 three-tier MABR stacks, each with three MABR spirals in a tower arrangement, treating wastewater for a population of 160,000 residents.

Fluence will partner with X-WATER, an engineering firm, to complete the project. The two companies had previously partnered on the development of the first two SUBRE reactors, which are currently operational in Sihanoukville.
