PT Jakarta Lingko Indonesia has awarded an 8 year contract to a consortium comprising PT Jatelindo Perkasa Abadi, Thales Group, Lyko, and PT Aino Indonesia to implement, manage, and maintain a ticketing platform and a Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) solution in Jakarta. Thales will design and implement an integrated payment system for multimodal transportation using an account-based ticketing (ABT) solution. Travellers using various transportation networks will be able to access transport services by swiping their smartphones or using contactless travel cards.

ABT will allow public transportation passengers to take advantage of the smart technology in the JakLingko app, which can read a passenger’s profile and recommend different rates based on it. Thales’ new ticketing technology is expected to be able to handle two million trips per day.
