The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has targeted extending the total length of toll roads in Indonesia to 5,103 km from 2,386 km by 2024. This includes 2,500 km of new toll roads, 3,000 km of new national roads, nearly 39 km of bridges and 31 km of underpasses and flyovers. By the end of 2021, PUPR expected to have completed 19 toll road sections totaling 406 km. Out of the total target for 2021, seven sections totaling 52 km have already started operations.

In 2020, PUPR had completed construction on 246 km of toll highways, 463 km of new roads, 17 km of bridges, and 987 metres of flyovers/underpasses.
