Vietnam Electricity (EVN), along with its subsidiary EVN National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), has commenced the construction of 500 kV transmission projects in central Vietnam. Taken together, these projects entail an investment of $515 million. The projects include a 500 kV line connecting QuangTrach and Ang, the 500 kV distribution ground at the QuangTrach power distribution centre, a 500 kV line connecting QuangTrach and Doc Soi, and another 500 kV line connecting Doc Soi and Pleiku 2. The three lines together will span 742 km in length and pass through nine provinces. The projects are likely to be operational by mid-2020.
