Hitachi Rail has secured a PHP13.13 billion contract from the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to install electrical and mechanical systems and carry out track works on the Manila-Bulacan section of the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) in the Philippines.
The Manila- Bulacan section, also known as the Tutuban–Malolos railway, is part of the northern section of the NSCR. The 38-km-long section has a projected cost of P149.13 billion and is co-financed by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
