The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) has approved an additional PhP 709 million in its budget for the PhP 3.4 billion Southern Luzon International Airport (SLIA) that is being constructed at Daraga in Albay. The new funding will be used to construct the airport’s runway after the preparatory groundwork has been completed. The SLIA is scheduled to be operationalised in 2016.
