DNB to achieve 80 per cent 5G coverage in Malaysia

Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB) is aiming to achieve 80 per cent 5G coverage in Malaysia by the end of 2023. The state operator’s current coverage as of 2023 is nearly 58 per cent. DNB will add another 2,000 new sites during the year to achieve its target.

This was announced amidst the decision to deploy a second 5G network in 2024 to increase competition. The Government of Malaysia also plans to create a new entity to manage the second 5G network.
