Australia-based Cyclion Holdings Proprietary Limited will invest USD5 million to construct a waste-to-fuel plant in Metro Manila, Philippines. The investment will be used to finance the construction of the pilot plant, with operations scheduled to commence in Q4 2024. This facility, the first of its kind in the country, will be able to process around 50 tons of waste per day into diesel fuel.

The project will be scalable with future plants planned around Quezon City and Caloocan City. The aim is to convert around 900 tons of municipal solid waste (MSW) into 52 million litres of diesel and other fuels per year from all the facilities. This is expected to cost around USD65 million.
