Commercial operations have commenced at the Siem Reap Angkor International (SAI) Airport in Northwest Cambodia. The USD1.1 billion airport, which was funded by the Government of China, is a flagship project under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Yunnan Aviation Industry Investment Group Company Limited will be in charge of operations.

The new facility will be both a cargo and passenger hub. The passenger terminal will be able to accommodate around 7 million passengers annually during the early operation stage, with capacity increasing to 10 million annual passengers by 2030. Post-opening, operations have been shifted from the old Siem Reap International Airport (REP), which was only able to accommodate around 2 million annual passengers.
