PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KAI Commuter) has signed an IDR783 billion contract with CRRC Corporation Limited for the supply of three 12-car electric multiple units (EMUs) for its commuter rail services in Jakarta. The trainsets are scheduled for delivery in 2025.
The trainsets will replace the oldest EMUs currently operational on the 1,067 mm gauge commuter network. Each trainset will have a maximum operating speed of 120 km/hr and a carrying capacity of 3,396 passengers.
