The Cebu People’s Multi-Purpose Cooperative (CPMPC) has launched the first five China-made electric jeepneys (e-jeeps) in Bacolod City as part of the Public Transport Modernisation Program in the Philippines.

These e-jeeps, supplied by e-Future Motors Philippines, will operate on the Fortune Towne-Central Market loop and are on a rent-to-own arrangement. With slow chargers and stations at key locations, the vehicles offer up to 54 per cent fuel savings compared to diesel jeeps, providing both cost and environmental benefits. The fleet will eventually expand to ten units.
