The Department of Energy (DOE) has signed wind energy service contracts (WESCs) with Ireland-based Mainstream Renewable Power for the expansion of 100 MW Santa Ana Cagayan Wind Project and 340 MW Panaon Wind Project in Luzon and Visayas in the Philippines. As per the contracts, the projects are allowed to be operated for a period of 25 years.

Moreover, Mainstream has also partnered with Aboitiz Power Corporation to establish a 58 MW onshore wind project in Camarines Sur. The project secured a 20-year offtake contract under the DOE’s Green Energy Auction Program (GEAP). Construction works will commence at the end of 2024 and operations will commence in 2026.
