France-based Air Liquide and Vopak have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to build and operate infrastructure facilities for the import of ammonia and distribution of green hydrogen in Singapore. As per the MoU, the companies will explore potential ammonia cracking facilities, associated ammonia storage and handling infrastructure at Vopak’s Banyan terminal, as well as the distribution of low-carbon hydrogen.

Additionally, Air Liquide’s industrial-scale ammonia (NH3) technology will be tested in a pilot plant currently being built in Belgium and slated to become operational by the end of 2024.
