Sihanoukville Autonomous Port (PAS) and Phnom Penh Autonomous Port (PPAP), two of the largest state-owned ports in Cambodia, recorded double-digit growth in revenue during 2021 despite movement and trade restrictions due to COVID-19. PAS recorded USD93.2 million in gross revenue, up 17.6 per cent from 2020. The port also handled 6.9 million tonnes of containerized cargo, up 6 per cent from 2020.

During 2021, PPAP recorded total revenues of USD34.5 million, up 14 per cent from the 2020 while also handling 4.2 million tonnes of containerised goods, an increase of 13 per cent from 2020.

The Government of Cambodia will also construct a new container port with a depth of 14.5 metres at PAS to accommodate larger ships. Work on the first phase is scheduled to commence in 2022 and be completed in 2025.
