Cambodia’s Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) have reviewed the preliminary feasibility study for upgrading National Road 8 between the Prek Tamak Bridge and the intersection with National Road 7 at Ponhea Kraek. The August 26 technical meeting examined engineering considerations, environmental and social impact assessments, financial planning and the proposed implementation schedule.

The review involved MPWT officials, AIIB representatives and ES Consultant specialists, with the parties working to address remaining technical issues and finalise the study. The project is intended to strengthen Cambodia’s eastern transport network and improve connectivity along the corridor.
