MTerra Solar Phase 1 has started commercial operations in the Philippines, delivering 600 MWac of mid-merit capacity under its Power Supply Agreement with Meralco. Commercial operations began on August 26, 2026, following the project’s receipt of the Final Certificate of Approval to Connect from the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), confirming completion of required safety, technical and grid connection tests.
The integrated facility was inaugurated in July 2026 following the energisation of 1,373 MWac of solar capacity and 825 MW of battery energy storage, equivalent to 3,300 MWh. A further 250 MWac is expected to enter commercial operation in the coming months. Jointly owned by Meralco PowerGen Corporation and Actis, the project is planned to reach 3,500 MWp of solar capacity and 4,500 MWh of energy storage when fully completed.
