Brunei LNG awards huge contract to SPHI Marine

Brunei LNG SdnBhd has awarded a 10-year contract to SPHI Marine Sdn Bhd. This is the largest and longest contract ever awarded to a local contractor. Under the contract, SPHI Marine will supply maintenance for three terminal tugboats and one anchor handling tug to support the export of Brunei’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) and shipping operations. The four new vessels will be Bruneian owned and flagged and will replace the foreign tugboats currently servicing Brunei LNG operations. The Brunei LNG contract has a 10-year primary period with a five-year extension option. The SPHI Marine project team will manage the construction of the vessels, which are expected to be put into operation by 2022.
