BOURBON has secured a three-year offshore support services contract in the Philippines with Prime Energy Resources Development, marking the company’s first contract with Prime and its first offshore programme in the country. The agreement was awarded through a commercial partnership with Bahtera Sri Kandi and will support offshore energy operations in Philippine waters.
Under the contract, BOURBON will deploy the Bourbon Liberty 237 anchor-handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel to provide offshore support services. Prior to its deployment in August 2026, the vessel will undergo modifications to enable the transportation of methanol for offshore operations. The upgrade programme includes tank conversions, installation of dedicated pumping systems and a nitrogen inert gas system, as well as modifications to pipelines and protective coatings, subject to approvals from maritime authorities and the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS).
The contract represents a significant step in BOURBON’s expansion in Southeast Asia and supports the growing demand for offshore energy services in the Philippines. The project also highlights the increasing adoption of alternative fuels such as methanol in offshore operations, aimed at improving operational efficiency and supporting industry decarbonisation efforts.
