Grab Indonesia has expanded its electric vehicle (EV) fleet through a partnership with Chinese automaker Wuling Motors, supporting the company’s efforts to accelerate the adoption of electric mobility across its ride-hailing ecosystem. Under the partnership, Wuling has supplied its New BinguoEV Lite model for deployment under GrabRentals, Grab’s vehicle rental programme for driver-partners.
The new vehicles will be integrated into GrabRentals services, providing drivers with greater access to electric vehicles while supporting Indonesia’s transition towards cleaner transportation. Grab Indonesia stated that more than 14,000 EVs are already operating across its ecosystem, including both four-wheel and two-wheel vehicles. The company aims to triple its EV fleet by the end of 2026 as part of its broader sustainability and decarbonisation strategy.
Grab has been steadily increasing the deployment of electric vehicles in Indonesia, with its electric motorcycle fleet already exceeding 10,000 units. The latest partnership strengthens the company’s efforts to reduce transport-related emissions while lowering operating costs for driver-partners through the use of electric mobility solutions.
