Prasarana Malaysia Bhd has awarded Trackwork & Supplies Sdn Bhd, a unit of AWC Bhd, four contracts with a combined value of RM51.99 million for works on light rail transit (LRT) systems in the Klang Valley. The first three contracts, valued at RM44.25 million, covers the design, supply and commissioning of new base plates for the Ampang Line – Phase 1, testing and commissioning a rail profile grinding machine for the Ampang line, as well as supply a new underfloor lathe for the Kelana Jaya line. Work under the contracts will be completed within a 18 to 24 month period.
The last contract, worth RM7.74 million, covers the supply of 400 units of UIC 60E1 grade R350HT running rails for the Ampang line and 340 units of RE 115 running rails for the Kelana Jaya line. Works will be completed in 10 months.
