Singapore-based Aolani has signed letters of intent to secure 500 MW of AI data centre capacity across multiple sites in Malaysia, with capacity targeted to come online from the second half of 2027. Designed to Tier III standards, the facilities will support purpose-built AI data centres and the company’s expanding AI infrastructure and GPU deployment. Under the proposed arrangements, Aolani will provide AI infrastructure, GPU deployment and operational requirements once the facilities are completed. The letters of intent are non-binding and remain subject to the negotiation and execution of definitive agreements.

Aolani expects its total committed capacity in Malaysia to reach up to 580 MW by 2027, compared with approximately 80 MW committed in 2026. The planned expansion is intended to serve demand from global hyperscalers and AI-focused companies, while improving local access to computing capacity. The company is also exploring partnerships to support Malaysian sovereign AI programmes, enterprises, researchers and start-ups. The expansion comes amid Malaysia’s growing role as a regional AI infrastructure hub, supported by power availability, land access and government and business backing for digital infrastructure development.
