The Airports of Thailand (AOT) has announced plans for the construction of two new airports and to expand the existing airports at an investment of THB150 billion. AoT plans to expand Suvarnabhumi Airport which will include a 50 per cent expansion of aerobridge terminal space. The construction of a third runway is also underway. Once completed, annual passenger capacity will increase to 65 million passengers by 2024 and 80 million by 2027.
Additionally, plans have also been announced to expand and improve the existing Chiang Mai Airport and Phuket Airport.
