The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) will commence operations on the 230 kV Cebu–Bohol interconnection project in 2024. The PHP19.61 billion link will connect the two islands via DC submarine cables. It will reduce the burden on the 138 kV Leyte–Bohol submarine cable and provide an alternative power source for Bohol Island.

Currently, NGCP has completed the laying of the submarine cable and is working on the substation and transmission lines. The project also includes the construction of overhead transmission lines and a switchyard at the existing substation at Corella town.
