AAEON Technology has partnered with FETC International (FETCi) to roll out an AI-based Automatic License Plate Recognition (AI-ALPR) system across over 2,400 parking facilities in Taiwan, with additional pilot projects active in Thailand, Malaysia, and India.
The AI-ALPR system leverages AAEON’s MAXER-2100 AI Inference Server and BOXER-8621AI powered by NVIDIA’s GPUs and Jetson Orin Nano to enhance vehicle plate recognition accuracy across diverse formats and regional styles. The system supports both parking management and electronic tolling, and is already part of a free-flow toll collection system on Bangkok’s Highway No. 9.
FETCi, with decades of highway operations experience, aims to scale this AI-powered infrastructure across Asia, further integrating smart tolling and law enforcement capabilities into its transportation ecosystem.
