Atty. Giovanni Banoy Lopez has been appointed Acting Secretary of the Department of Transportation (DOTr), succeeding Vince Dizon, who was recently named Secretary of Public Works and Highways.
Lopez previously served as chief of staff in the Office of the Secretary from 2020 to 2022 and held senior positions overseeing railway, aviation, and maritime infrastructure projects. Prior to his appointment, he was recommended to serve as DOTr undersecretary for administration, finance, and procurement.
