The Department of Transportation (DOTr) will sign the consultancy and loan agreements for the Metro Rail Transit Line 4 (MRT-4) in 2024, a year behind its initial target for acquiring funds for the rail project in the Philippines. Funding includes a USD1 billion commitment from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The MRT-4 will span 15.56 km, serving 11 stations, and will cover Quezon City and Pasig City in Metro Manila as well as towns in Rizal. Once operational, the line can transport up to 234,000 passengers per day.
