Malaysia’s utility company YTL Power International has finalised a deal to acquire a telecommunication infrastructure company, Konsortium Jaringan Selangor (KJS), for RM 49.8 million. Accordingly, YTL Power will buy out Kumpulan Darul Ehsan and Ingres Software’s 60 per cent stake in KJS. KJS builds and maintains telecommunication towers for major mobile phone companies in the country. YTL Power’s subsidiary, YTL Communications, is a 4G wireless broadband provider operating under the Yes brand. The acquisition is expected to contribute to YTL Power’s medium- to long-term earnings.
