China-based YADEA and Vietnam Green Energy Infrastructure (VGX) have signed a strategic cooperation agreement to develop a shared battery-swapping network for electric motorcycles in Vietnam. The partnership aims to accelerate electric vehicle adoption by expanding charging alternatives and improving convenience for riders across the country.
Under the agreement, the two companies will jointly research, develop and deploy battery-swapping solutions for YADEA electric motorcycles that are compatible with VGX’s nationwide battery-swapping infrastructure. The system is intended to reduce charging times, improve operational flexibility and minimise travel interruptions for users, supporting broader efforts to promote green mobility and sustainable transportation.
VGX is a joint venture established by Xuan Cau Holdings, Petrolimex and electric motorcycle manufacturer Selex Motors. According to the partners, the collaboration represents an important step toward creating an open battery-swapping ecosystem capable of supporting multiple electric vehicle brands. YADEA, which entered the Vietnamese market in 2019, currently operates a manufacturing facility in Bac Ninh Province and inaugurated a second USD100 million production plant in March 2026. At full capacity, the company’s two factories are expected to produce up to four million electric motorcycles annually.
