The World Bank-funded Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) of the Department of Agriculture (DA) has been extended up to July 2025 and has received additional foreign funds of about P16 billion. Of the total funding, the World Bank will extend PHP14 billion while the European Union (EU) will finance PHP2 billion of the project costs.

This new round of funding is expected to support approximately 267 climate-resilient rural infrastructure, 287 enterprise development projects, irrigation and water systems, greenhouses facilities, solar dryers and warehousing. The project is currently separated into two categories including I-Build which includes development of infrastructure projects and I-Reap which involves projects on the production, processing, and marketing for agriculture-fishery activities.

Under PRDP, 454 rural infrastructure sub-projects have been approved till date, with 261 of them already completed. Approximately 1,229 km of farm-to-market road (FMRs) was also completed under PRDP, while 859 km are currently under development.
