Construction of the Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge is set to begin in July 2025, starting with land-based approach structures worth PHP11 billion. Public Works Secretary Manuel Bonoan announced that bids are being finalised for Contract Packages (CP) 1 and 2, which cover 6.89 km of approach ramps in Bataan (PHP7.3B) and Cavite (PHP3.43B). The Notice of Award is scheduled for July 4, 2025, with contract signing on July 13, 2025.
The bridge, with a total project cost of PHP175.66 billion, aims to cut travel time between Bataan and Cavite from 5.5 hours to just 45 minutes. Following the initial land works, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will begin bidding for the marine viaducts and main bridge spans under CPs 3 to 6, which make up the bulk of the remaining cost at nearly PHP153 billion. The 32.15 km structure will span Manila Bay, connecting Mariveles, Bataan and Naic, Cavite.
