Solar Philippines and SP New Energy Corporation (SPNEC) have commenced works on the 4 GW Terra Solar project in Nueva Ecija and Bulacan in the Philippines. This is set to be the world’s largest solar part featuring 3.5 GW of solar panels and 4 GWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS). The project is estimated to cost PHP200 billion and is expected to be completed by 2026.

As per the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) 2022, the country aims to install 15 GW of clean energy by 2030, with a focus on mini-grids and standalone clean power systems.
