Westport Malaysia’s request for an extension of its concessions for a period of 30 years has been accepted

The Malaysian government and the Port Klang Authority have agreed to Westport Malaysia’s request for an extension of its concessions for a period of 30 years, until August 31, 2054. However, the agreement is subject to completion of the following activities: reclamation of the land and incidental works for container terminals 6 to 9; and construction works for container terminal 6. Westport Malaysia has obtained the consent from the PPP Unit in the Prime Minister’s Department to extend the land reclamation and incidental works at Port Klang’s container terminals 6 to 9 by six months from January 1, 2014.
