Vietnam-based VinFast will unveil two electric bus models, EB 8 and EB 12, at Busworld Europe 2025 in Brussels. Both models comply with EU and UNECE regulations and are equipped with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries supplied by CATL and Gotion, offering capacities up to 422 kWh for a range of around 400 km, with charging at up to 140 kW taking approximately three hours.

The EB 12 has been specifically designed for the European market, considering local regulations, infrastructure, and passenger requirements. Both buses feature driver-assist technologies—including blind spot detection, intelligent speed assistance, forward collision warning, and drowsiness monitoring—and passenger amenities such as Wi-Fi, USB charging, infotainment systems, and kneeling suspension for easier boarding. VinFast aims to begin European operations in 2026, supporting the EU’s zero-emission bus targets of 90 per cent by 2030 and 100 per cent by 2035.

VinFast has already built a comprehensive e-bus ecosystem in Vietnam, covering manufacturing, deployment, and maintenance, with an annual production capacity of 1,500–2,000 electric buses and CE-compliant manufacturing processes.
