Vietnam-based VinFast has introduced an electric vehicle (EV) rental programme targeting transport and ride-hailing drivers in Indonesia and the Philippines, expanding access to EVs without requiring upfront ownership.
The initiative allows drivers to rent vehicles from VinFast’s Green lineup through authorised dealerships, offering a low initial deposit, fixed daily rates, and long-term contracts. Pricing starts at around IDR312,500 in Indonesia and PHP1,000 in the Philippines.
The programme includes models such as the Herio Green and Limo Green, designed for commercial use with a focus on durability, efficiency, and passenger comfort. Initial rollout will target major urban centres including Greater Jakarta and Metro Manila, with further expansion planned.
In addition to rentals, VinFast continues to offer financing options for drivers who prefer vehicle ownership, with repayment structures aligned to driver income. Participants will also benefit from access to the company’s regional charging network, including free charging at V-Green stations through March 2029, helping to lower operating costs. The initiative forms part of a broader regional strategy by VinFast and its parent group to accelerate EV adoption in the commercial transport sector, improve driver affordability, and support the transition toward lower-emission mobility solutions in Southeast Asia.
