Cambodia Airport Investment Company Limited (CAIC) has appointed Cambodia Airports—a subsidiary of France-based VINCI Airports—to operate the upcoming Techo International Airport (TIA) near Phnom Penh.
The 2,600-hectare airport is located about 20 km from Phnom Penh, in the southern Kandal and Takeo provinces. Construction began in 2020, and official operations are scheduled to start on September 9, 2025. TIA is classified as a 4F-level airport, the highest international standard, and will handle up to 13 million passengers annually in its first phase.
VINCI has operated Cambodia’s airports since 1995 and currently manages Phnom Penh International Airport. The new agreement reflects CAIC’s goal of aligning Cambodia’s aviation infrastructure with global standards and supporting long-term economic growth and regional connectivity.
