Viettel has partnered with Singtel to launch the VTS undersea cable, connecting Vietnam and Singapore, with branches extending to Cambodia, Thailand, and Malaysia which is expected to go live in Q2 2027. This direct cable will offer faster Internet connections and lower latency, meeting the growing demand for bandwidth. The exact capacity is yet to be disclosed.

This initiative aligns with Vietnam’s ambition to become a digital hub, outlined in its 2030 plan for international cable development. With plans to expand the number of undersea cables to at least 15 Tbps, Vietnam aims for a total data capacity of 334 Tbps.
