The Government of Vietnam has launched 250 projects across 34 provinces and cities with a combined investment of nearly VND1.3 quadrillion (around USD 49.4 billion). The projects include 59 in transport infrastructure, 44 in civil and urban development, 57 in industry, and 36 in technical infrastructure. A notable highlight is Viettel’s new Research and Development (R&D) Centre in Ho Chi Minh City, valued at VND10 trillion, which will focus on semiconductors, AI, and data.
Under the government’s 500 days and nights campaign, Vietnam has expanded its expressway network to 2,476 km and coastal roads to 1,397 km, surpassing earlier targets. By the end of 2025, the country aims to reach 3,000 km of expressways, nearly 2,000 km of coastal roads, and basic completion of Long Thanh International Airport. Economists expect the projects to contribute over 18 per cent to GDP in 2025 and more than 20 per cent in the following years, supporting growth of at least 8 per cent in 2025 and double-digit expansion from 2026–2030.
