The Government of Vietnam and the World Bank’s division for Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos, to discuss upcoming official development assistance (ODA) projects. The amended Law on Bidding, effective January 15, 2025, has decentralised approval processes to expedite loan disbursement.

Key projects include the Binh Duong wastewater treatment scheme and the southern waterway corridor, which have received government approval. The World Bank’s ODA pipeline, valued at $11.2 billion, focuses on growth innovation, economic restructuring, energy transition, and climate resilience. Between 2026 and 2030, Vietnam plans to direct ODA towards expressways, railways, energy infrastructure, and digital development.
