Vietnam and Russia are planning to increase bilateral co-operation in oil and gas projects and nuclear power projects. The countries also agreed to cooperate in the fields of mineral exploration, engineering and energy. The countries are planning to exploit Vietnam’s continental shelf and speed up negotiations on the expansion of the Dung Quat oil refinery. Further, Russia gave its consent to work with Vietnam to build the Ninh Thuan 1 nuclear power plant.  The two countries plan to increase bilateral trade turnover to $7 billion in 2015 and $10 billion by 2020.
