The Government of Vietnam is advancing a broad digital transformation agenda through new initiatives spanning digital government, transport infrastructure, science and technology, education and public administration. Recent government measures include integrating lifelong learning records into the VNeID digital identity platform, expanding digital public services and implementing stronger identity verification requirements to improve cybersecurity and reduce fraud. The Ministry of Science and Technology is also progressing the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW to strengthen national capabilities in science, innovation and digital transformation.
The government is simultaneously accelerating major infrastructure development to support long-term economic growth. Hanoi has commenced construction of five urban railway lines and three rental housing projects as part of its largest combined transport and social housing programme to date. In parallel, the Prime Minister has assigned ministries responsibility for 20 strategic technology initiatives covering advanced technologies, digital infrastructure and innovation under Decision No. 808/QD-TTg, while continued investment in data infrastructure is supporting growing demand for cloud services and digital connectivity.
Vietnam’s broader development strategy is also supported by strong economic and tourism performance. During the first five months of 2026, the country welcomed more than 10 million international visitors, while newly registered enterprises exceeded 94,800 and foreign investment reached USD24.81 billion. Together with continued investment in education, skills development and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, these initiatives reinforce Vietnam’s ambition to strengthen its position as a regional hub for digital innovation, sustainable infrastructure and technology-driven economic growth.
