The Government of Thailand has announced plans to upgrade Udon Thani Airport by 2028, including a new passenger terminal and enhanced public transport access. The expansion aims to increase capacity from 3.45 million to 7.2 million passengers annually.
Construction works are expected to start in 2026, with a focus on creating seamless connections between terminals and establishing a public transport centre for easier access to local tourist destinations. The upgrades align with Udon Thani’s promotion as one of Thailand’s MICE cities.
