The Government of Hanoi will introduce an integrated electronic ticket system for its public transport network starting September 2, 2025, according to the city’s Department of Construction. The initiative aims to unify payment across buses, metro lines, parking, and other services, enhancing passenger convenience and promoting non-cash transactions.
The new system will support payments via Vietnam’s national ID app, VNeID, and allow seamless transfers across different transport modes. The move addresses current limitations, where tickets are not interchangeable between transport lines, and aligns with Vietnam’s smart urban development goals.
