U Mobile has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with EdgePoint Infrastructure to accelerate the rollout of its 5G in-building coverage (IBC) network across Malaysia. As one of U Mobile’s preferred partners, EdgePoint will assist in deploying cost-effective, site-specific 5G IBC infrastructure to improve indoor connectivity in high-traffic and commercial locations.
The partnership focuses on enhancing network performance, data speeds, and latency to support technologies such as AI, IoT, and smart city applications. Both firms also plan to explore further innovation and expansion in 5G IBC solutions. U Mobile says the initiative reflects its commitment to driving 5G adoption and supporting Malaysia’s digital economy with robust, high-speed coverage nationwide, including East Malaysia.
