The Nusantara Capital City (IKN) Authority has announced that the trial of flying taxis in Indonesia’s new capital city will commence in June 2024. The taxis will be developed by the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) and Hyundai Motors Company (HMC).

Trials, including a series of tests and feasibility studies, will last for a month and will be conducted at the APT Pranoto Samarinda Airport. Upon completion, Hyundai intends to develop a business scheme through Supernal, its Advanced Air Mobility unit.
