Eastern Bangkok Monorail Company has commenced a new round of trials on Bangkok’s Yellow Line, ahead of the monorail opening to passenger service in 2023. The test runs will be conducted at 16 stations between the Srinagarindra Road depot and Lat Phrao station.A total of 30 Innovia Monorail 300 Bombardier trains, supplied by China-based CRRC Puzhen Bombardier Transportation System Company will be used during the trial.

As of October 2022, construction on the Yellow Line is 96.79 per cent complete and electric rail operation system has been about 96.56 per cent installed. Track works have already been completed.

The MRT Yellow line elevated mass rapid transit line in development in Thailand. The 30.4-km-long line will have 23 stations and will operate along the Lat Phrao road and Srinagarindra road corridors. The transport project costs about THB49 billion. The line was initially set to commence operations in October 2021 but was delayed because of slow progress due to Covid-19.
