Tenaga Nasional Bhd and Telekom Malaysia have signed an agreement to develop green energy solutions and strengthen digital infrastructure across Malaysia. The partnership aims to create a more sustainable and interconnected energy and telecom ecosystem.
Under the agreement, both companies will combine TNB’s renewable energy expertise with Telekom Malaysia’s digital infrastructure and connectivity capabilities. The collaboration will focus on deploying solar energy systems, expanding electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, and integrating smart digital technologies for improved energy management.
Initial plans include installing solar systems at multiple Telekom Malaysia facilities and expanding rooftop solar adoption among residential customers. The initiative will leverage TNB’s GSPARX solar solutions and support the growth of its Electron EV charging network, enhancing accessibility and convenience for users.
The partnership will also incorporate digital tools and artificial intelligence to optimise energy consumption, improve service reliability, and enable faster detection and response to disruptions. These efforts are expected to enhance operational efficiency while reducing costs for businesses and consumers.
