The Government of Vietnam has announced plans to develop 6G infrastructure during 2022 to boost wireless communications technologies, with emphasis on cloud computing and Digital Platform as a Service. The government is inviting investments from Vietnam-based telecommunication firms to fund the development and production of 5G and 6G hardware.

Digital infrastructure is a high priority sector for the government, with a target of providing globally competitive telecommunication infrastructure by 2025. Currently, Vietnam’s digital economy generates around USD136 billion annually and the sector has more than 64,000 players.
