Manila Electric Company (Meralco) has announced a competitive selection process (CSP) in the Philippines for the provision of 850 MW renewable mid-merit capacity over a period of 20 years. The Third-Party Bids and Awards Committee (TPBAC) has invited interested parties to contest Terra Solar Limited’s bid, which included a headline and levelized cost rate of PHP6.08 per kWh.

By February 26, 2026, a total of 600 MW of renewable energy (RE) will be accessible, with the remaining 250 MW scheduled delivered on February 26, 2027. Interested bidders are required to submit their expressions of interest by February 2, 2026 and the bid submission date is March 7, 2026.

The CSP round is a part of Meralco’s initiatives to procure up to 1,500 MW of total power generated from RE and sustainable sources. Currently, fossil fuels account for about 94 per cent of the company’s current energy mix.
