The Government of Indonesia has approved a budget of IDR48.8 trillion for the second phase of developing its new capital, Nusantara, from 2025 to 2029. This follows an initial investment of IDR89 trillion from 2022 to 2024, focused on building essential infrastructure. The new budget will fund the completion of key facilities for legislative and judiciary agencies, as well as ongoing maintenance and infrastructure management.
The Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) also plans to implement a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) program worth IDR60.93 trillion, which includes the construction of road projects, a multi-utility tunnel, and a solar power plant. The government is also exploring the construction of apartment towers and housing projects as part of the broader development initiative.
