Sitio Danao-Danao has launched a solar-powered potable water system, funded by a World Bank grant through the Department of Agriculture-Philippine Rural Development Project in Barangay Polopiña, Concepcion. This PHP12.8 million initiative is the first of its kind in the province and aims to address water scarcity in the region.
The system uses advanced reverse osmosis technology to convert seawater into potable water, with a maximum capacity of 11,000 litres per day. This sustainable solution provides clean drinking water to over 213 families at an affordable rate of PHP6.00 per 20-litre container.
